Updated: 8:53 am CDT March 11, 2009

A Lake Mills woman was sentenced Tuesday in a drunken-driving crash that killed a woman.

Jennifer Yelk was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the May 2008 crash that killed Trisha Kerr.

The 30-year-old Jefferson woman died eight days after the crash.

Kerr's family is now pushing the state to toughen its drunken-driving laws.

Police said Yelk had a blood-alcohol content of 0.28 and that the incident was her fourth OWI.
