Sheriff: No Leads On ID Of Body Found In Town of Ashford

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Mick Fink said the partially decomposed remains found a month ago by hunters are those of a female who was 15 to 21 years old.

Fink said on Monday that investigators believe she died in late summer or early fall but her identity remains a mystery. The remains were found last month in the Town of Ashford.

Hunters found the remains Nov. 23 in a creek 17 miles south of Fond du Lac. Investigators said that they believe she was killed, but Fink said her cause of death is undetermined.

Fink said experts determined the victim was white but possibly has Hispanic ancestry.

Fink said that the victim was wearing a Zoey Beth brand black top and size three Angels brand jeans, and was probably knock-kneed and pigeontoed.

He said the victim weighed 110 to 135 pounds and had long, light brown hair.

Fink said the hope is that releasing more details about the "Jane Doe" death investigation will increase the likelihood of someone coming forward to identify her.

Information about the body provided by a forensic anthropologist has already been entered into the National Crime Investigation Center database.
