Small Plane Lands On Madison Golf Course

Pilot Wasn't Hurt

A small plane ran out of fuel before reaching the Dane County Regional Airport and had to land at a nearby golf course.

A Dane County 911 Center supervisor said that the plane was about 200 yards short of the airport about 11 p.m. on Tuesday when the pilot made a hard landing at Bridges Golf Course to the south.

The twin-engine Cessna aircraft was on a flight from Appleton to Milwaukee was diverted to Madison because of the weather.

The pilot was the only person on board and wasn't injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
