Authorities are looking for Charles "Chuck" Witzel, 42, who they said is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder while armed. Witzel was last seen on Friday.

However, investigators said on Sunday that they also want to talk with another man in connection to the case. Late Sunday night, Dane County investigators said that they have identified and spoken with the person of interest they were looking for.

Earlier Sunday, authorities released images of the person of interest, which were taken from a retail store on the East Side of Dane County on Halloween. The man is described as a white man who is heavy set and has facial hair. They said that he was last seen wearing a Green Bay Packers hoodie with a baseball cap at the store.

Before investigators spoke with the man, Dane County Detective Todd Benisch said that they believe the person of interest has ties with Witzel.

"He was with our suspect three hours prior to the incident. So it's very important that we talk to the individual," Benisch said.

Investigators said that they believe Witzel fatally shot Craig Severson, 45, multiple times. Lisa Morgan, 27, was also shot and remains in critical condition at a local hospital.

Witzel has ties to the Arena and Loganville areas, authorities said.

They said that Witzel is about 6 feet tall, weights about 180 pounds and has long brown hair. He has a tattoo of a wolf on his left bicep and a tattoo of a cat on his right forearm.

They said he might be traveling in a gray or silver 1992 Toyota pickup truck with Wisconsin license plate number EV4-861. Detectives said that the owner of the pickup truck Witzel might be traveling in isn't a person of interest. They said that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities said that anyone with information on either of these men should call 911 or the Dane County Sheriff's Department at 608-255-2345. Members of the public can also pass along information to the Dane County tip line at 608-284-6900.

Detectives said that they are continuing to following up on several tips in relation to this case.
