Madison Congregation Praying Away Financial Woes

A Madison church is taking their economic worries to a higher power.

The Evangel Life Center in Madison's east side asked its entire congregation to bring financial records such as 401K statements, foreclosure notices and student loan papers to church on Sunday morning.

The church held a special financial prayer for members affected by the recent economic turmoil.

"We are dependent on God and so we're really seeking his divine favors and his help and asking for mercy on our finances," said Evangel youth pastor Adam Clausen.

Clausen said he believes Sunday's prayer will lead to a reversal of the financial curse facing the community.
