It is still unknown if the University of Wisconsin-Madison marching band will play at this Saturday's football game against Penn State.

All members of the band are suspended.

"As soon as I walked through that gate, it was like 'Let's get down to business,'" said Mike Leckrone, director of the marching band. "I can sense there's some tension on the part of a lot of the kids, as it should be. They've felt a lot of what's going on."

Amid a university investigation into hazing, alcohol abuse and sexual misconduct allegations involving some members of the UW-Madison marching band, Leckrone said practice will go on.

"I think for everybody, it's kind of a relief to get back (to practicing). It's kind of going to be therapy for us all to hopefully look at this like it's business as usual," he said.

The Badgers will face Penn State this weekend at Camp Randall, but Leckrone said he is still waiting to see if the band will perform.

"We're going to start practicing with the hope that on Saturday things will work out so that we can perform," Leckrone said.

University officials said more details about the investigation are expected later this week.
