Work on Highway A in Lake Delton got under way on Monday.

Gov. Jim Doyle approved a $3.6 million contract to rebuild the roadway, which washed out from the June flood.

Hoffman Construction of Black River Falls will be the prime contractor.

The company hopes to have the road complete in December. The lake is expected to be filled next spring.
