Updated: 7:16 am CDT August 27, 2008

A Warrens man accused in a fatal collision that killed a woman on an all-terrain vehicle and injured a toddler Sunday has been charged in Jackson County.

A criminal complaint said Phillip Holloway, 23, of Warrens, told investigators he drank four or five beers before driving his vehicle Sunday afternoon east of Black River Falls.

Holloway said he was going about 45 mph when he collided with an ATV that was in the middle of the road, authorities said.

The ATV driver, Karen Gibson, 60, of Brodhead, was killed. The 3-year-old girl on the back of the ATV suffered minor injuries.

Holloway has been charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and two misdemeanors.
