A collision between a horse-drawn buggy and a motorcycle killed one person and injured 11 others Sunday in southern Wisconsin.

Lafayette County sheriff's officials said the driver of the motorcycle missed a curve on Highway F at about 6 p.m. Sunday near the entrance to Yellowstone Lake State Park.

Authorities said the bike crossed the center line and hit the buggy. The motorcycle driver, Joseph Hendrickson, 21, of Blue Mounds, was killed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four adults and seven children in the buggy were injured, some severely. The four adults and four of the children were taken to hospitals, including a 7-year-old who was flown by Med Flight to a Madison hospital for treatment of severe injuries. A 12-year-old who was transported to Lafayette Memorial Hospital in Darlington was later also taken by Med Flight to a Madison hospital.

Sheriff's officials said one of the two horses pulling the buggy had to be put down.
