A 53-year-old Madison man has been arrested in connection with a bomb scare Tuesday at Middleton Ford.

The man entered the service bay at Middleton Ford at 11:42 a.m. and told employees that he had a bomb in the trunk and removed a box from the trunk; he later said, "It's OK, it's defused," according to a Middleton Police Department press release.

Police responded and the building was evacuated. The man was taken into custody without incident.

The box contained a car radio and the man expressed no animosity toward the business or its employees, according to the police press release.

Charges have not been filed pending a mental health evaluation.
