Updated: 7:28 pm CDT July 28, 2008

A Baraboo man accused of killing his two 5-week-old twins entered a not guilty plea to the charges on Monday.

David Yates, 46, is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in connection with his children's death.

The twins, Tyler and Savannah Yates, were found dead under the bed in his Baraboo home on April 13. Prosecutors said that officers were sent to the home to check on the children at the request of their mother. They said that they found Yates in bed and later discovered the twins' battered bodies.

Yates' trial is scheduled to begin next February.
