SAUK COUNTY, Wis. -- Some residents of Sauk County were hard at work on Monday evening choosing the perfect cow chips for the annual chip throwing competition.

"They would just break apart. These are really nice, there's a nice consistency to them, nice size. Once they dry out then they should be around the right weight to throw."The state cow chip throw is Aug. 29 and Aug. 30 at Marion Park in Prairie Du Sac.
