MADISON, Wis. -- University of Wisconsin officials are asking the city council to approve a plan that would put 63 new bus shelters around the campus.
VIDEO: Watch The ReportThe idea behind the new shelters is to tie together the outdoor areas of the university with the UW brand, WISC-TV reported."They don't lend any sort of sense of campus to our university," said UW transportation planner Rob Kennedy. "What we're trying to do is take all of our furniture such as our benches and make sure it says Univ. of Wis. to people when they come onto the campus and we're going to do that with our shelters now."The $10,000 shelters are being paid for entirely by UW-Madison transportation services, WISC-TV reported. If approved, the first 15 bus shelters would go up along Park Street and University Avenue before winter
