The centers are in Dane, Rock and Jefferson counties.

Area residents affected by the recent flooding and tornado damage can go to the centers to begin the registration process.

About 800 people in Dane County are already registered with FEMA, WISC-TV reported.

For those that have already registered, the next step is to check in with the FEMA office to set up an inspection of their home for flood damage. Officials can also help residents with what can be a very difficult and confusing process.

"If they are given an SBA package, they need to fill it out because if they don't, it cuts them off from further help from FEMA, including something that's called Other Needs Assistance where they can get personal property replaced, things like that," said Ed Edahl, FEMA's public information officer.

The Dane County center is located at 4318 Robertson Road, in Madison. The Jefferson County center is located at 864 Collins Road, in Jefferson. The Rock County center is located at 2416 North Wright Road, in Janesville.

On Monday, the centers will be open from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. After Monday, the centers will open at 10 am.

Officials are recommending people should call 1-800-621-FEMA to get the registration process started.
