A: The Virginia Tech Tragedy that claimed 32 lives, when I worked as a reporter for the NBC affiliate in Charlottesville, VA.Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: Riding my bike for as many miles as possible, almost anything outside, working out, cooking and trying to squeeze in time to read something interesting.Q: What is your favorite kind of ice cream?
A: Chocolate.Q: What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you?
A: Well, the most embarrassing thing is the time I stood up on a wicker chair in front of my packed high school auditorium to make an announcement and plunged right through the seat.Q: What is your favorite place to vacation?
A: Someplace hot, with water and an ocean breeze.Q: Who is your hero and why?
A: My mother, she put up with raising me all by herself and miraculously we still get along!Q: What is your favorite sport to play or watch?
A: I love watching the Tour de France.Q: If you could possess one superhuman power, what would it be?
A: Flying.Q: What are you really bad at that you’d love to be great at?
A: Singing. Though I’ve become convinced I wasn’t given that gift so I would chase this dream instead.Q: What is your most memorable travel experience?
A: I was in Frankfurt, Germany and a man ran past a lady on the street and snatched her newspaper from underneath her arm and ran off. She caught up with him and beat him with her purse as people applauded. It was funny, justice was served, and completely unforgettable.Q: What is the worst job you have ever had?
A: So far, nothing to report.Q: Who would you most like to interview alive or dead, and why?
A: Saddam Hussein, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin. I’d like to make them answer to what they did, and get inside their heads and figure out why. Next, Barbara Walters. I figure she’s talked to just about everyone else I could want to interview, so she could fill in the blanks. On a personal note, I’d like the first interview with Gloria Estefan on Cuban soil after communism ends in the country.Q: What is your favorite tradition around the holidays?
A: Driving around looking at Christmas lights.Q: What is your favorite song of all time?
A: There isn’t one favorite, more like hundreds. We’d probably need an ASCAP license if I listed them all!Q: What is your favorite movie of all time?
A: The River Wild. The main character, Gail, played by Meryl Streep is a carbon-copy of my mother. And there are some amazing whitewater scenes that ramp up the tension of having killers taking you hostage on a family rafting trip!Q: What is your favorite book of all time?
A: Non-fiction: Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aaron Ralston. Fiction: ROOTS by Alex Haley.Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
A: Work harder than anyone else, but know that success is not guaranteed.Q: If you could relive any moment, what would that be?
A: I try to live in the moment. Or maybe I just haven’t had one yet that I’d really want to do again.Q: Where were you when September 11, 2001 occurred?
