Updated: 8:58 am CDT June 9, 2008

Crews battled a fire at the Frito-Lay plant in Beloit on Saturday evening.

Authorities said that they received a report of a fire at the plant on Kennedy Drive at about 5:19 p.m.

Firefighters requested extra equipment to battle the blaze.

Officials said that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Beloit's fire chief said that he believes that product from the plant might have been jammed up in a dryer, which he said could have caused the blaze.
