The Dane County Sheriff's Department said that a Madison man has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after he went off the road and rolled his car in the Town of Cross Plains early Friday morning.

Authorities said that Brad Stadler, 29, was driving on County Highway J when he went off the road and rolled the vehicle one and a half times. Deputies said that Stadler was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car.

Authorities said that a passenger, Kelly Smith, 22, of Verona, was wearing a seat belt and had minor facial injuries.

Both were transported by ambulance to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. Stadler was admitted for serious but non-life-threatening injuries to the head and back.

Investigators said that both speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
