The Johnson HospiceCare Residence will join the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, which opened in 2000 thanks to $3 million from the Andersons.

"These two buildings are about the people who are cared for in these buildings and the folks that come for grief sessions after people die. Without these two buildings, there are many things that we would not be able to do," said Susan Phillips, president and CEO of HospiceCare Inc.

"Churchill said, 'You make a living by what you earn. You make a life by what you give,' and that's what we like to do," Don Anderson said.

Anderson lost his wife, Marilyn, last month. HospiceCare also received $4.7 million from the estate of Ruth Solie, who died last July.
