Woman Arrested On 4th OWI Now Faces Homicide Charges
Victim Dies 8 Days After Crash

MADISON, Wis. -- A Lake Mills woman accused in a two-vehicle crash last week that left a woman fighting for her life is now facing vehicular homicide charges.The victim, Trisha Kerr, 30, of Jefferson died Thursday at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, eight days after police said her car was struck by a Ford Expedition driven by Jennifer Yelk, 30.Police said Yelk's blood-alcohol content was 0.28. A blood-alcohol content of 0.08 or more is the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle in Wisconsin.Yelk had been in court facing her third drunken-driving charge just nine days before the crash. During that court appearance, she was instructed not to drive if she had anything to drink.Yelk faces more than 50 years if convicted in Kerr's death.
