Trial Delayed For Driver In Crash That Killed 14-Year-Old

FRIENDSHIP, Wis. -- The trial for the driver of a tractor-trailer that struck a school bus and killed one student has been delayed.The three-day trial was supposed to have started in less than two weeks for Barry Jacobson, 46, but that's now pushed back until Nov. 19.Jacobson is charged with homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle, three counts of causing great bodily harm by reckless driving, and two counts of causing bodily harm by reckless driving.Authorities say the Mineral Point man's semitrailer truck smashed into the parked bus from the Tri-County school district near Plainfield in 2006. The crash killed David Senft Jr., 14, of Bancroft. Six other students were severely injured.He faces up to 26 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
