NWS Officials Confirm Second Tornado Touchdown From Last Week's Storm
County Official Estimates Damage Totals Above $550,000

MADISON, Wis. -- The National Weather Service announced Friday that it had determined there were actually two tornado touchdowns during last week's storms.

UPLOAD: Share Your Storm VideoThe first was a very brief tornado, which touched down near Prairie du Sac.Officials had previously confirmed another tornado, which touched down near Wyocena and caused extensive damage to several area homes and businesses.The path of the Wyocena tornado was also much longer than initially thought, according to NWS officials.The tornado started near Prairie du Sac and went all the way into Fond du Lac county, near Markesan, WISC-TV reported.Earlier this week, Columbia County officials said that they thought the tornado moved along a path several miles long and 50 to 75 yards wide. It caused severe damage at a few locations, ripping apart barns, shattering windows and obliterating an RV trailer, but no one was injured.Pat Beghin, Columbia County emergency management director, put the damage estimates about $550,000.
