MADISON, Wis. -- The mother of Mark Staskal said a hearing is set for next month that could place her son in a local community.Staskal has spent most of his adult life at the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison after being found not mentally responsible for killing his sister in 1984.Millie Staskal said that she and her husband don't agree with the decision to let him out of the Mendota Mental Health Institute, but she has been told her son would be released into a group home.The hearing is set for May 13.State officials aren't confirming the location or the community.Mark Staskal was granted conditional release to a group home in Eau Claire in November, despite his family's opposition. After controversy surrounding his release, he was brought back to the Mendota Mental Health Institute a few weeks later.
