Police: Autopsy Leads Investigators To Suspect Twins' Death Was Homicide

Boy, Girl Found Dead In Baraboo Home

Updated: 8:13 am CDT April 16, 2008

Five-week-old twins found dead in a Baraboo home this weekend might have been victims of homicide, according to preliminary autopsy reports.

Baraboo police said that the autopsies are pointing investigators in the direction of homicide in the deaths of the boy and girl, named Savannah and Tyler.

Authorities found the babies on Sunday night when they were called to a residence in the 1400 block of Lake Street at about 8 p.m. to check on the welfare of the twins and their 45-year-old father

At first, authorities said that no one could be roused in the home. When officers entered the home, they found the father lying in bed and then discovered the two children -- a boy and girl -- were dead.

The babies' mother doesn't live in the same residence and wasn't present when police arrived. Authorities said she isn't considered a suspect.

Police said that the father is currently in custody on a probation hold. WISC-TV and Channel 3000 aren't identifying the father because he hasn't been charged with a crime.

Authorities said that the police, along with the State Crime Lab and Sauk County coroner's office, are investigating.
