COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. -- Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused an explosion and garage fire near Cottage Grove Friday night.

VIDEO: Fire Official Talks About Garage Fire (Unedited Interview)Several area fire departments were called to the scene at Weststar Road around 7:30 p.m. Friday. The home is located just south of Cottage Grove and east of McFarland.Six different agencies responded, and crews had the fire under control within an hour. Fire officials said they were concerned about the gasoline in parked cars.The family called 911 after hearing an explosion in an unattached garage, WISC-TV reported.No one was hurt, but one family member was treated for smoke inhalation. Authorities said that person was trying to put the fire out before firefighters arrived.Authorities said the garage was a complete loss, but the flames did not reach the house.The garage was estimated at approximately $35,000, not including the contents inside.
