No One Was Injured In Collapse

Updated: 5:05 pm CST February 27, 2008

Juneau County's 911 system is back in operation after hours of being offline following the collapse of a nearby building.

On Tuesday night, the Kastner building in Mauston collapsed, disabling power and phone lines for the 911 communications center and the County Justice Center. No one was injured in the building collapse, WISC-TV reported.

Authorities said that emergency calls were supposed to be rerouted through Adams County, but the system wasn't working properly.

By Wednesday morning, the problem was fixed.

Repair crews were at the scene and worked through the night.
