After months of waiting and wondering if Wisconsin's primary would even have an impact, candidates are announcing their visits to the state starting on Monday, WISC-TV reported.

In a small and cramped Gilman Street office, Students for Obama have been busy on the phones.

"Obviously, the biggest news is Sen. Barack Obama's visit to campus on Tuesday," said student volunteer Bryon Eagon. "Ever since that's been announced, it's been ringing off the hook and people are coming into the office wanting to know more information."

"We're reminding them to vote and giving them the polling location," he said. "Eventually next weekend, we're going to be doing a lot of door knocking and getting out the vote efforts leading up to Tuesday's election."

Obama volunteers said Tuesday won't be Obama's only showing in the state.

"We're still putting together his schedule but he's going to make his priority here in Wisconsin to really have a dialogue with voters on change and health care and the war in Iraq," Eagon said.

Obama's rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and her campaign, while acknowledging an underdog status, has their campaign well underway, too.

"We've got campaign people all across the state in virtually all 72 counties," said Dane County Executive and Clinton supporter Kathleen Falk. "We just got word that Chelsea Clinton is coming tomorrow and Tuesday in Wisconsin and Sen. Hillary Clinton is coming very shortly, so it really is an exciting week."

Clinton has accepted an invitation to debate at Marquette University in Milwaukee, but to date, Obama hasn't replied. Clinton supporters said they believe a debate is crucial to informing Wisconsin voters.

"Shaking hands is not enough, people want to know where the candidates stand on the issues and a debate does that," said Falk.
