Four Proposed Names For New Madison School To Be Released Tuesday

School Was Originally To Be Named For Vang Pao

Updated: 9:19 am CST February 5, 2008

The Citizens Naming Committee will release its final four proposed names for Madison's new West Side elementary school on Tuesday.

The original list contained 87 suggestions, WISC-TV reported.

The top four names will be reviewed and voted on by the Madison Metropolitan School District's Board of Education.

The school was originally named General Vang Pao Elementary, but the naming process was started over after Vang Pao was charged in federal court with trying to overthrow the Laotian government.
