DOT's 2008 Beltline Improvement Outline
Road Constructions For 2008, 2010-2012
Below is an outline of the scheduled projects that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will undertake in conjunction with the Beltline improvement project:Old Sauk 2008
- Add Additional left turn lane on NB ramp Add advance left turn lane for WB traffic between High Point and ramp terminal SB exit ramp will have one left turn lane and two right turn lanes Auxiliary lane extensions both north and south between the west ramp terminals and Excelsior Drive NB exit ramp will have two left turn lanes and one right turn lane
- Add triple left turn lanes to NB exit ramp Extend NB exit ramp right turn lane Add WB auxiliary lane between Target entrance and Beltline Add SB exit ramp dual right turn lanes
- Provide signals and lane reconfiguration work at both ramp terminals and approaches Bike pedestrian lane only provided on west side of bridge
- Add additional left turn lane on the WB off ramp to provide one right turn
- Removal of existing EB on ramp and reconstruction with new alignment Signalize NB movement at EB off ramp and Park Street Removal of NB off ramp (loop ramp in SE quadrant of current configuration) Relocation of frontage road to make room for SB and new NB exit ramp Realign SB/NB exit ramp to straighten out Create dual left turn lanes and connection from SB to NB terminal Lengthen acceleration lane from EB on loop ramp through the bike and pedestrian bridge Lengthen decal lane on Park Street to WE on ramp
- Add right turn lane on WB off ramp to provide for dual right turn lanes and one left turn lane
- Extension of auxiliary lanes on both side
- Add a third left turn lane on the EB off ramp Add additional left and right turn lane on the WB off ramp
- Removal of remaining loop ramp from NB Fish Hatchery to WB Beltline traffic (NE quadrant of interchange) Alignment of ramps on the north side of the interchange Widen bridge to accommodate dual left turn lanes
- Mill and pavement overlay both EB and WB lanes up to ramp terminals at each end
