Suzie Johnson, 25, owns a pet grooming shop near her home. She said that she got suspicious when she noticed two men in a pickup truck open her garage, pull the truck inside and shut the door behind them. At first, she said that she thought it might have been a few friends, WISC-TV reported.

However, her suspicions grew even more when she called over to the home and no one picked up the phone.

"I figured that if it was a friend, they would for sure pick up the phone," Johnson said. "Nobody picked up, and then I decided that I was going to get in my vehicle and go over there."

By the time Johnson had arrived at the house, the truck had taken off. But Johnson was right behind them.

Johnson said that she stayed on the line with a 911 dispatcher while she followed the men.

"She told me she was in pursuit of the people," said Laura Steiner, a Green County 911 dispatcher. "We suggested a number of times to stop, but she said, 'I want to catch them.'"

Johnson said that she followed the truck at a safe distance for about 25 minutes -- through three counties and into Illinois -- while giving dispatchers updates turn by turn before authorities were able to find them and arrest the men.

"I think that I felt that if they got away, and somebody had been at my house, that I would always wonder what they were doing there, what they wanted, and wonder if they would come back," Johnson said. "I was kind of scared, but I was mad."

Green County Sheriff Randy Roderick said that a person has the right to defend their property. He commended Johnson for her actions -- for calling 911 first and keeping a safe distance.

Rock County Sheriff's deputies arrested Phillip Saeger, 56, and Timothy Garland, 26. They are being held in the Green County Jail. Both were charged with burglary, and Garland was also charged with obstructing an officer.

Authorities said that they think both suspects could be responsible for other burglaries in the area. Authorities said that the investigation is continuing.
