MADISON, Wis. -- A student group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is promising to continue its fight against what it believes is religious discrimination.A district court ruled last week that UW officials must allow funding for the UW Roman Catholic Foundation's programs even though the activities include prayer and worship. The UW has refused to fund the programs because officials believe sponsoring the group violates the separation of church and state, WISC-TV reported."What it means for students is that, you know, as student organizations are able to speak freely about our Christian beliefs here on campus, and the university can no longer discriminate against that," said Craig Griffie of the UW Roman Catholic Foundation. The university released a statement on the ruling, saying that it will continue its strong defense of this matter. The statement also said that are still issues to be developed and litigated as the case heads to trial in June.
