MADISON, Wis. -- The state Department of Natural Resources is reminding anglers to help prevent the spread of a deadly fish virus this winter.Although it has no effect on humans, VHS can be deadly to many kinds of Wisconsin fish. The DNR is asking anglers to not take live fish or bait from one lake to another or to use live bait that was bought outside of Wisconsin."We're trying to get anglers to embrace a set of behaviors and realize that they have an individual role in maintaining the integrity of Wisconsin's fisheries," said Kurt Welke, a fisheries biologist. For more information about the VHS emergency rules, visit this Web page (PDF format).
