Sun Prairie Closer To Getting Bus Aides

Aides Would Control Bad Bus Behavior

Updated: 8:47 am CST November 21, 2007

The Sun Prairie School District is one step closer to placing aides on school buses.

Sun Prairie school officials were seriously considering the measure because student behavior on some routes was out of control.

The Facilities, Transportation and Technology Committee met on Monday night to discuss the issue.

After hearing from parents, the committee voted 4-1 to recommend the measure to the school board.

The school board will take up the issue at its meeting on Nov. 26.

If approved, bus aides would be hired by Kobussen, the company that provides bus service to the district, and ride on two elementary and one middle school route, WISC-TV reported.
