  • Q: What is your favorite part about living in Madison?
A: This is basically my hometown – where my family and friends are – so that’s what I like the most. But there’s so much happening in this great city: civic events, sports, social life – it’s hard not to love it here.

Q: What is the biggest news story that you've covered?
A: Recently, it’s been the floods of 2008. But the one I’ll never forget was the Stoughton tornado – I was one of the first on the scene, literally as the tornado was coming through.

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: Friends and family are a huge part of my life. I also enjoy volleyball, and I’m at any Badger football game I can get to. Have any extra tickets??

Q: What is your family life like? Significant other, married, children?
    A: Single

Q: What is your favorite kind of ice cream?
    A: Culver’s Cookie Dough

Q: What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you?
A: My life is a comedy show – which is why this is a tough one. But my friends tend to re-tell and laugh about the time in college when I got a mechanical pencil eraser lodged in my left ear. A team of experts (my two roommates) worked hard to remove it…only pushing it further in. It took a trip to the ER to finally get it out. Lesson learned: don’t put small objects near your ear! Hear the entire narrative, as told to my friends Pete & Joe from KJOT-FM, here.

Q: What is your favorite place to vacation?
A: Minocqua, WI – I’ve been going up there with my family since the late 80’s – such a great, beautiful, fun, and restful place.

Q: Who is your hero and why?
A: My parents are both my heroes. I consider myself pretty lucky to be a part of a great, loving family with parents that are such great role models.

Q: What is your favorite sport to play or watch?
    A: Playing volleyball…watching football

Q: If you could possess one superhuman power, what would it be?
A: I’d love to be able to fly.

Q: What are you really bad at that you’d love to be great at?
    A: Golf – I’m terrible.

Q: What is your most memorable travel experience?
A: I’ll never forget traveling up to Green Bay for WISC to cover the “news side” of the NFC Championship game in 2008. We were there for five days – and it got to 40 below zero. Even with seven layers and dozens of hand warmers, I’ve never been so cold! And despite the loss, it was a great trip.

Q: What is the worst job you have ever had?
A: I was a customer service representative for a major appliance retailer – and I took calls from people who needed repair service on their appliances. So many angry people with broken dishwashers…

Q: Who would you most like to interview alive or dead, and why?
    A: Jon Bon Jovi

Q: What is your favorite tradition around the holidays?
A: I’m lucky to live near just about all of my family members – we do Christmas Eve on my dad’s side of the family, and Christmas Day on my mom’s side.

Q: What is your favorite song of all time?
A: Livin’ on a Prayer – Bon Jovi

Q: What is your favorite movie of all time?
A: Back to the Future I

Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
A: "Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts." - Unknown

Q: Where were you when Sept. 11, 2001 occurred?
A: My senior year of college – my roommate woke me up and told me what was going on. I turned on the TV to see the second plane hit the Trade Center. I sat in front of the TV all day in shock, and knew the world as we knew it was about to change.
