Legislators Look To End Frankenstein Veto Power
Referendom Could Come in April Or November

MADISON, Wis. -- Lawmakers call it the Frankenstein veto and Wisconsin might soon pull the plug on it.The veto gives Wisconsin governors unique partial veto power to stitch together unrelated words and numbers to create laws, WISC-TV reported.A proposal nearing approval in the Legislature would set up a referendum next year on whether to nix the Frankenstein veto.The referendum would come sometime next April or November, officials said.
