Investigators Say Lynch Tried To Lure Women

Dane County Assistant District Attorney Mike Verveer said that Sean Lynch made a full confession to investigators, admitting that he tried to lure a 12-year-old girl and several women for the purposes of sex.

The District Attorney's Office has not yet filed formal charges against Lynch. Tuesday's hearing was only to determine bail, WISC-TV reported.

Verveer said that on 17 different instances, police believe Lynch approached females he did not know and asked for directions to a local movie theater. Verveer said that Lynch told detectives he hoped the encounters would include sex.

"It's fair to say that many, if not all, of these victims were quite disturbed by his actions, and more and more are coming forward to police as this case has been publicized," Verveer said.

The judge set Lynch's bail at $1,000 but released him on a signature bond Tuesday afternoon. Lynch has been ordered to stay under house arrest, except to attend school or go to work.

"Sean lives here in the Madison area. He's got extended family in the Madison area. In fact, the idea being, he would not actually live at home but instead live with an aunt," said Rob DeBauche, Lynch's attorney.

Lynch is a student at Verona Area High School, WISC-TV reported.

Police said he was arrested Friday during a routine traffic stop. The District Attorney's Office said Lynch was operating with a suspended driver's license at the time.

Verveer said he expects to file one count of child enticement against Lynch, as well as several counts of disorderly conduct for the adult victims Lynch allegedly tried to lure.

Lynch is due back in court on Thursday.
