Authorities: Man Tried To Grab Woman Tuesday Morning

UPDATED: 12:24 pm CDT October 25, 2007

Area women should be on alert after reports of a suspicious man harassing woman around the city, Madison police said.

In the latest incident, a man yelled and tried to grab a woman while she was taking her trash out at her home on Chester Drive on Tuesday morning. The woman was able to jump in her car and lock the doors, WISC-TV reported.

Officers said that they believe it's the first time the man has approached on foot.

Authorities have received four other reports from women on the city's West Side that said a suspicion man in a car was asking for directions.

Police are asking women to use caution and call police if they see someone acting suspicious.
