Victim's Family Was Searching For Dog After Attack

Updated: 7:28 am CDT October 11,2007

The Rock County Sheriff's Department said that it has located the dog that attacked an Edgerton teenager on Friday.

Sheriff's officials said that the owner of the pit-bull type dog, a 62-year-old Brooklyn man, was arrested and cited in connection with the incident.

Authorities said the dog attacked Avalon Aegerter, an Edgerton High School freshman, in Edgerton's Murwin Park on Friday. Aegerter was treated for two dog bites at a hospital, WISC-TV reported.

Aegerter's family had been searching for the dog because they needed to know whether it had received rabies shots.

The dog's owner said that its vaccinations are up to date, WISC-TV reported.
