A burglar hit in the head with a shoehorn by an elderly man during a break-in in Dodge County received a six-year sentence in prison.

Gary Wells, of Milwaukee, pleaded no contest to burglary. He was also sentenced to five years extended supervision.

An 85-year-old Lebanon man hit Wells with a shoehorn last December when he demanded money and threatened him. The man, who was in bed, cursed at Wells, told him to leave and threatened to shoot him before hitting him on the head.

Wells and an accomplice left the scene.
