Posted: 6:43 pm CDT August 8, 2007

Police said that a Madison man accused of ripping out railroad tracks to sell the metal for cash is in custody.

Authorities said that about 100 feet of track is missing in Fitchburg.

Police said that they found Emil Ledoux loading 5- to 10-foot sections of track into a moving truck. Authorities said a piece of track that size could sell for $200 at a recycling center.

Fitchburg police said they are questioning Ledoux in connection with other rail thefts.
