MADISON, Wis. -- District officials received a copy of the finished report on why Chavez is contaminated with mold yesterday.
Details were kept confidential until today.
Sources told News 3 that water and moisture problems were rampant during the project, but the general contractor allegedly tried to cover them up.
The report lists high humidity, a leak in the roof and drywall that got wet after it was installed, among problems.
Staff Files Suit Against Builder
Chavez staff members filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Westra Construction of Waupun, the company that built the school.
Teacher Shari Pressentin told News 3 in February that she had retained a lawyer and planned to sue whoever is responsible for the mold infestation in the school.
The lawsuit allows other teachers who got sick from the mold to participate.
Linda Eggert will report on News 3 at Six.
