A 20-year-old Madison man told authorities that, among other crimes, he was sexually assaulted with a long pole.

Police said that the man had gone to a Town of Cottage Grove home with acquaintances to obtain drugs sometime last weekend. The man was discovered walking along County Highway BB at about 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, WISC-TV reported.

Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney said that the man remains hospitalized with significant injuries.

"(He had) head and other bodily injuries, both internally and externally," Mahoney said.

Mahoney said that the victim told investigators that he went to a home at 2999 County Highway BB to get drugs.

"During their (the victim and the suspects') contact, it's alleged that the victim consumed a great deal of cocaine without the permission of the other individuals. As a result they responded by beating this individual, holding him against his will and sexually violating him with other objects," Mahoney said.

The man said he was tied up and held for a couple of days.

Police said that Carl G. Ware, 19, and Dominique Hale, 19, are in custody and facing charges of first-degree sexual assault and first-degree reckless injury while armed.

Kim Weltzien, 25, of Cottage Grove, was also arrested on charges of possession of cocaine and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

Authorities said they are continuing to search for a fourth suspect, Emmanuel E. Usher, 17, of Madison. Mahoney said that Usher also took part in the assault.

"His background is significant criminal activity and gang activity, so we're hoping to find him relatively soon," Mahoney said.

The sheriff said that anyone with knowledge of Usher's whereabouts should call 911.
