MADISON, Wis. -- Madison Metro Transit rolled out its first two "full wrap" buses, which are completely covered in advertising.

They are part of a pilot project that will include 15 fully wrapped buses.

Metro's general manager said that with serious funding challenges just to maintain service levels, the ads offer help.

"I think it offers an opportunity for the pilot to be successful, and if successful, which we're all going to work on, to carry it further and to help us carefully manage the impact that we have on the taxpayers of our community who support Metro Transit," said Chuck Kamp, general manager for Madison Metro Transit.

If successful, Kamp said he hopes to increase the number of fully wrapped buses.
