A Janesville teen was killed in a snowmobile crash on Thursday night.

Rock County sheriff's deputies said that Daniel Wastak, 19, was snowmobiling on a trail in Plymouth Township on Thursday night when he apparently missed a curve and hit a barbed-wire fence and several fence posts.

Authorities said that Wastak was wearing a helmet, but suffered severe neck injuries. He died at the scene.

The state Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
