Parents who attended Wednesday night's Chavez mold meeting at Madison Memorial High School, said they feel shut out.

"I was expecting some input, and I think a lot of other parents expected to have some input, but it's clear they don't want our input," said Matt McDermit, who has two children who attend Chavez.

However, parents are glad the school has been closed until January.

"I'm happy," said Jim Donovan, parent of two Chavez students. "They need to get the situation solved and get back in January."

Testing and cleaning at the new school is continuing.

'Not A Perfect Situation'

Superintendent Art Rainwater said that he knows this is not a perfect situation.

"If it means we're going to have to take out every piece of wallboard, we'll take out every piece of wallboard," Rainwater said. "Our intention is before we take any children or any staff back into that building, that the building is the way it should be. We'll do whatever we need to do to do that."
