ROCK TOWNSHIP, Wis. -- Authorities said that autopsies this weekend showed that the mother and two children found dead in a mobile home near Janesville were victims of homicide.

The Rock County Sheriff's Department said Sunday that the county coroner ruled the three deaths were due to "complex homicidal violence." Investigators said that they won't be releasing any more details about how the family was slain because that could jeopardize the investigation.

Authorities found the bodies of Danyetta Lentz, 38, and her children -- 17-year-old Nicole and 14-year-old Scott at their home in the Jacobs Mobile Home Park in Rock Township on Friday.

A family member found the bodies after Danyetta Lentz failed to show up at her day-care job and her children didn't make it to Janesville Parker High School, WISC-TV reported.

Rock County Sheriff Bob Spoden said that authorities were working to track down leads.

"I want to assure all the residents and members of our community in Rock County that the Sheriff's Department will find the person or persons who are responsible for this," he said.

Spoden called it a "horrendous crime." The sheriff's department performed a second search of the crime scene on Saturday.

The Sheriff's Department said that it is continuing its search of the crime scene and surrounding areas.
