1 injured in truck vs. school bus crash

There were no passengers in either vehicle, officials say

FITCHBURG, Wis. -

One person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus, according to a release.

Crews responded to the intersection of Fitchrona and Whalen roads for a vehicle crash around 3:20 p.m., officials said.

Investigators said a pickup truck being driven by a 44-year-old Madison man was northbound on Fitchrona Road. The driver did not stop for the stop sign at the intersection and hit a school bus that was eastbound on Whalen Road.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital by Med Flight with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release. The driver of the school bus, a 71-year-old Verona man, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
