Green Bay Converting will open a plant in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to make paper towels and tissue, creating 300 new jobs.
The Wisconsin company and Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant announced the plans Monday in Hattiesburg.
Green Bay Converting will invest $48 million in the plant, which turns paper into finished products.
CEO Greg Santaga bought the separate Hattiesburg Paper Co. in 2005 from Kimberly-Clark Corp. That company, part of a larger group being sold to Georgia-Pacific, has 186 employees.
Green Bay Converting makes a wide variety of tissue-related paper products. Founded in 1999, it has more than 300 employees.
