Operations Technician: WISC-TV currently has an opening in our Operations Department for a part-time Operations Technician. Duties are to provide an error-free live broadcast through detailed studio preparation, accurate pre-show editing, script distribution, and flawless on-air execution of teleprompter and camera operations. Hours vary and include nights and weekends. Qualifications include PC computer literacy; effective verbal communication skills; ability to work non-traditional hours, concentrate on a wide range of simultaneously occurring tasks, effectively handle fast-paced live news situations, occasionally move large set pieces, and climb ladders. Prefer Bachelors degree in Communications or related field and previous studio operations experience. Candidates experienced with the Overdrive Automated Production Control System will be given high consideration.
Newscast Producer: WISC-TV is actively searching for a News Producer to help lead our team at the #1 rated station in Madison. The ideal candidate will be a newsroom leader with a proven ability to deliver a high-quality, high energy newscast which appeals to our local audience.
Specific duties include working closely with the Executive Producer and Managing Editor to determine content needs and story ideas on a daily and long-term basis. The ideal candidate will write clearly for multiple platforms, including our website. Social media proficiency is required.
The newscast producer will work with reporters and photographers on story development, and lead our Production staff with technical presentation of the newscast. Other duties include writing topicals, setting up live shots, editing and posting content to our website.
We need a creative thinker with excellent news judgment and who can deliver relevant and compelling stories every day. We prefer applicants with 1 year experience and college degree. A writing test is required.
