MADISON, Wis. -

Consumers may have noticed gas prices are following and they are now at their lowest level since February 2011. The national average is $3.19 per gallon.

Experts say much of the country could see gas fall to near $3 per gallon. Six states have already gone below $3 per gallon, but there’s little chance the national average will fall below that $3 mark. The last time the national average fell that low was December 2010.

The average for Wisconsin is about $3.15 per gallon compared to $3.21 per gallon last week.

Janesville drivers are paying $3.18 and Milwaukee has some of the cheapest gas in the state at $3.05 per gallon.
