MetJet's decision to end operations Saturday is complicating travel for some passengers who booked flights through the failed company.
MetJet sold tickets to specific destinations and contracted with Sun Country to provide airplanes and crews. MetJet CEO Michael Heisman said he understands the company has a responsibility for stranded passengers. Heisman said each case is being evaluated and depends on whether the traveler knew when they left that their return flight was not going to take place.
Press-Gazette Media reported MetJet is working with an escrow management company and credit card companies to make refunds. Heisman said the process has been slow because MetJet received hundreds of claims that didn't qualify for refunds.
